Initially people were in doubts about the revamp of the original series of 90210, but after the latest cast announcements, everyone is in good mood. There’ll be many pretty faces and eye candies for those who feel that series does not carry much substance. Some stars are already known to us, some will be introduced in this season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Meghan Markle of ‘Til death’ fame and Kellan Lutz (The Comeback) will be joining the show for at least few episodes each, this season. Markle is reportedly playing Wendy, a sexy student of Beverly Hills High who does not hesitate to use her looks to get what she wants. Lutz plays George Evans who belongs to a wealthy family. I do know, the above information is pretty vague, so we will have to wait to find out more about him.

It’s almost confirmed that Tori Spelling will stay away from this season, to spend more time with her new born daughter. But all the fans of Brenda Walsh can definitely shout, ‘wow!’, as she is sure to be back in the show. The details of her character Doherty are still being worked out and rumors are saying that there could be a reunion between Doherty and Garth. Now folks, we all know that Brenda and Kelly Taylor did not get along very well behind the scenes during original 90210. There were media reports of tension between two, when they were just 19 and 20, but I guess they are mature as well as professional now. So, things would be different… hope so!

Well, it’d be good to see some new faces on series, but the most interesting thing to see is, if the reunion will be emotional one or it would just end up in one of them being tossed out.

Hilary Duff has been offered the role of Annie Mills on Beverly Hills 90210 spin off. And it becomes Beverly Hills + Hilary Duff= Brilliant. This role is such an achievement for her and series will definitely offer her a plenty of opportunities to shine in TV world.

Whether she will accept this role or not, it’s not apparent but if she accepts the role, then, she’ll be playing an emo-listening role on series.

Personally, I am happy to see her on series. I don’t know what’s going on her side as it’d be tough for her to commit to a weekly series now, when she’s focusing on her film and music career.

Annie Mills is a Beverly Hills High student who is into theater acting, just like her predecessor. No words yet on her thinking??? Meanwhile, what do you think?? She’ll or she’ll not be? Just wait and watch.

Someone may be joining this upcoming spin off, but someone has already quitted the series. If you don’t know Rob Thomas, Veronica Mars creator was asked to write about but due to his other primary schedules, he decided to skip the series as a show runner but will stay as project consultant.

The upcoming spin off has become somehow ho-hum as Rob Thomas, the creator of Veronica Mars is stepping down as show runner of the new series. The reason is that his two other pilots on ABC are under development. Rob himself says, “I’d do the additional pass [of the pilot script], but I’m swamped with the two other projects and ABC has me in first position.”

Rob Thomas is not willing to continue as a show runner but he will be involved in the project as a consultant. Meanwhile, the network is looking for his replacement so the production has been pushed back.

I am the biggest (Okay, bigger) fan of Beverly Hills, 90210 and I was so excited to watch the spin off because of Rob Thomas, a tight tie-wearing director/producer/writer as his produced versions are just superb ( watch veronica mars). I must say that the series will definitely suffer from his departure as he’s one of whom, those can make a success. Meanwhile you can watch the earlier seasons of the show here.

Happy Birthday! Shannen Doherty. On April 12, this Beverly Hills bad girl will turn 37. On the series, she’s playing Brenda Walsh, which is one of the lead characters on show. Well other good news is that all of her stuff and the Beverly Hills episodes are now available for download

Shannen Doherty is the daughter of Tom Doherty, a bank worker and Rosa Doherty, a beautician. At her age of 7, this gorgeous lady announced that she wants to become an actress. She appeared on various shows as a guest star including ‘Voyagers’, ‘Father Murphy’ etc. When she was at 11, she appeared as Jenny Wilder on the very popular show ‘Little House on the Prairie’. Shannen moved to the cult classic movie ‘Mallrat’s and several TV movies, including ‘Blindfold’ and ‘Almost Dead’.

CW network is planning to make a present-day version of Beverly Hills, 90210. Veronica Mars’s creator Rob Thomas is asked to write for the spin off and it would bring Thomas back to CW after the end of Veronica Mars.

Beverly Hills, 90210 spin off will revolve around two teenagers who move from Midwest to Beverly Hills. No word is here, on whether any of the original cast will appear.

The original Beverly Hills 90210 series was launched in 1990s and the show completed 10 seasons. After 10 successful seasons, the show ended with the wedding of high school lovers David Silver and Donna Martin. With original series’ premier, Jason Priestly, Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Shannen Doherty etc launched their careers. Spin off is being produced by CBS Paramount Network TV and original Beverly Hills creator Darren Star is not being involved this time. It would be the second spin off of the series.
